Drake Promises Different Tone For Third Album

Drake

Drake is often criticized for being too “emotional” in his music. Some fans love him for it, and some wish he’d go back to more of the Comeback Season style of rapping. MTV caught up with Drake in which he talks about his recent move to L.A. that has inspired a different attitude out of him that he plans to show on his next album.

“There’s just so much going on for me in the U.S. that I recently made the move to L.A.,” Drake told MTV. “It’s a new atmosphere, getting to know new people. It’s going to be a very interesting album.”

”I think that my mood will be reflected in the tempos that I choose for the music,” Drake added of his next LP during a conference call earlier in the week. “A lot of Take Care, it’s down, a lot of it’s down and I think a lot of that had to do with being back home in Toronto and getting reacquainted with the life I had before and the difficulties of that, but at the same time trying to express excitement and trying to express joy.”

“Now I’m kind of in a very, very, very, very different place than I’ve ever been,” said the YMCMB star. “I think it will be conceptually one of the best projects that I’ve ever worked on because there’s so many new things going on in my life. Everybody knows when it’s new, that’s when I thrive.”

I believe it will be different… we all know he’ll probably work with A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick (for the 2nd go round). It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets a smooth cut with himself, Wayne and Curren$y, beat by Big K.R.I.T. snuck on there as well.

Man… Take Care was epic, much better than So Far Gone. So I have bigger expectations and for this album to hit way beyond Comeback Season’s ballpark bleachers.

Maybe this go-round he’ll get album of the year… he would have had it had it not been for Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80. I’m kinda hoping Drake’s album doesn’t come out this year, there’s just too much competition… especially with A$AP Rocky’s album coming out in July and 2 Chainz’s in August. The Summer is under siege.
